Dr. Joanna Sliwa is a historian of the Holocaust and Polish Jewish history. She received a PhD in History from the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University. She currently serves as Historian at the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference).

Previously, Sliwa worked at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), and at the Museum of Jewish Heritage—A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. She taught at Rutgers University – New Brunswick, Kean University, and served as Faculty Adviser to the Master Teacher Institute in Holocaust Education at the Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life at Rutgers.

Sliwa serves as a researcher, translator, and consultant for projects ranging from academic texts to websites and films.

She speaks on topics related to the Holocaust, Jewish history, and Polish history.
